Speak Now · Tuesdays · 8 pm ET

Have a story of hope?

We'd love to hear it. One speaker, twenty minutes or as long as you need, then the room shares back. No public speaking experience needed. We talk it through with you before your Tuesday.

How it works

What a share is

Hope, not a highlight reel.

A Speak Now share is the story of how you got through, told in your own words. That's it.

  • Any path, any substance, any stage. You don't have to be sober to speak.
  • Stories from queer, trans, BIPOC and neurodivergent voices are wanted here, not tolerated here.
  • You don't have to be a Swiftie. If a song helped, say so. If not, that's fine.
  • Use your name, a first name or a nickname. Camera optional.
  • Twenty minutes is the minimum. Some speakers go fifty and we love it. Take whatever feels right.
  • Nothing is recorded unless you say yes, and you can say no on the night.
  • You never have to answer a question you don't want to.

If you're stuck

Three ways to start.

The turn

The moment something shifted. Not the worst day, the day you decided to try something different.

The song

One track that got you through a hard stretch, and what it was doing for you at the time.

The thing nobody says

What you wish someone had told you early on. The room is full of people who need to hear it.

Questions

Speakers ask these first.

I've never spoken in front of people.

Most Speak Now speakers hadn't either. It's a Zoom room, it's kind, and you'll have talked it through with Julianne first. You can read from notes the whole time.

Do I have to say I'm in recovery?

No. You say as much or as little as you want. No labels, no day count, no diagnosis.

Can I stay anonymous?

Yes. First name or a nickname, camera off, and we won't post your name anywhere without asking.

Will it be shared online?

Only if you agree. Some speakers let us keep the replay for members. Some don't. Both are fine.

What if I change my mind?

Tell us. Any time, including the day of. Nobody will make it weird.

After you speak

You'll get mail. And your video.

Every Speak Now speaker gets a package in the post after their Tuesday, and the recording of the night sent over. No cost to you. It's a thank you for standing up in that room.

A handwritten card

From Julianne, written after your night. Not a form letter.

Bracelets

Handmade by Jen L through Jen's Invisible Strings. Keep one and pass one on to somebody who needs it.

Stickers

For the laptop, the water bottle, the notebook you take to meetings.

Your video

The recording of your share, sent to you. Watch it back when you want to, and see for yourself how it was to be in that space.

You don't have to be a member to get it. Speaking is enough.

And an open door

If you're building something of your own, a business, a project, a service, you're invited into the Swiftie Business Directory. This isn't a one time ask. We keep showing up for each other.
